What camera do you use for your photos?

I have two camera's I use for my blog photos. One is the Panasonic Lumix DMC-SZ3. I use this camera when I don't feel safe taking my DSLR camera. The other one I have since June '15 which is the one I call my big boy camera, the Canon EOS1200D. For this camera I have two lenses. One being an EF-S 18-55mm f/3.5-5.6 III lens and the other being an EF 75-300mm f/4-5.6 III lens.
I also take pictures with my phone when I don't have a camera with me but still see something picture worthy. Since October '16 this is an Iphone 5s. (Before this I had an Iphone 4s).

What program do you use to edit your photos?

I sadly don't have the money to buy good photo editing programs, poor student and all, so I'm stuck with free programs I can find on the internet and in the app store. My favourite is photogramio.com/photoeditor for my computer, which is an online website where you can edit your pictures. I like to use the filters in the effect section, but on a low percentage, to colour correct my photos and the adjustment section for other adjustments.
For my phone I love using the VSCO app, which I also use for my instagram. It takes a little detour having to transfer the photos from my laptop to my phone and back, but I feel like VSCO is a nice app for editing pictures.

What do you study?

I study logopedie which translates to speech-language pathology. I basically focus on necessities for communication (speech, language, voice and hearing, but also swallowing for some reason). I'm now in my second year and still enjoy it a lot.
I hope to one day work in the hospital with prematurely born babies with feeding problems and elderly people after a brain injury.

How did you create your blog design?

It wasn't an easy tasks and there are still some imperfections I can't seem to fix. I took inspiration from my favourite bloggers and blog designs and googled how to work with those HTML codes. I worked a lot with good old Paint to get certain images like the social media icons.

Why did you start your blog?

I have a passion for photography and would love to turn this hobby into a job one day. However, the chance of that ever happening is pretty small, but everybody can dream right? I started this blog as a place where I can post my photos, because otherwise I wouldn't really do anything with them and they would just stay unused and unwatched on my laptop.

What advise would you give to starting bloggers?

Since I'm still a starting blogger, I'm probably not the best person to ask for advice. I would just make sure you like your own blog and enjoy working on it and don't really care for views or popularity. I mean my blog is still pretty unvisited, so it's actually really amazing that your here and reading this.

What advise would you give to starting photographers?

I wouldn't call myself a photographer, because I'm just doing something. I personally prefer working with manual settings on my DSLR camera and focus manually, because it makes me feel like I have more control over the outcome of the photograph. So my advise would be to learn how to focus manually and know what the settings on your camera are for and how you can use them. Especially the shutter speed and ISO speed are handy settings to know and use.

Where do you come from and why do you write in English?

I'm Dutch and live in the Netherlands (a.k.a. Holland). If I were to write my blog in Dutch, not many people from other countries would understand it, so I decided to write it in English. I've had four years of bilingual education, where most of my classes were in English. Therefore English comes quite natural to me. Even though my grammar and spelling probably sucks. Sorry for having to deal with that (:
